Narlıyan

Flat renovation in a symbolic building in the elegant Bebek district of the European side of the Bosphorus.

Narliyan building, built in 1932 by Turkish Armenian architect Kegam Kavafyan in art deco style with a private deck, a boathouse and 20 m2 balconies on each floor, represents the ultimate specimen for yalı style of living in apartment building.

The design is accentuated with predominantly vintage furniture, fixtures and lighting that evoke the soul of the epoque.

The open kitchen concept

The apartment building literally extends into the sea thanks to its particular architectural feature called the “cumba”, essentially a bay window, and displays the morning sun with reflections of Bosphorus water on the flat’s high ceilings.
