Art Sanctuary

This contemporary home just outside of metropolitan Istanbul in the suburb of Kemerburgaz was designed as the summer residence of an art collector couple. It consists of a three storey villa, swimming pool and pool house. Situated on a vast terrain, the outdoor area was designed as an extension of the interior. Every window and opening was carefully planned in order to create viewpoints overlooking artworks both on the inside and out. Curated specifically for this house with a mix of top notch Turkish and international artists, this sanctuary of art cultivates the perfect balance between design, art and landscape. The garden of the house was landscaped in homage to the architect’s lifelong admiration of the Katsura Imperial Villa in Kyoto.
